One of the reasons I organize retreats is to witness the result of what a person can accomplish by staying focused on becoming a better version of yourself. I have witnessed this over and over again. The always eccentric Oscar Wilde said “Be yourself – everyone else is taken“. Truer words cannot be spoken! We all have the ability to become better versions of ourselves — including yours truly. Our vacations allow enough relaxation time – whether it’s conscious meditation or just sitting by the beach after an exhilarating yoga class and watching and listening to the roar of the waves. The power of just that – the ocean – gives you that sense of yes, I can accomplish that – whether it is something that we have been trying to embrace or move away from. That is to me what a wellness retreat is all about. Yes, the yoga component is important. But what is more important is to use the yoga practice as way to tap into a new and better version of yourself. Whether you want to call it power or energy, it is exciting to witness this. And I have seen so many people go through this after just six or seven days. This Fall and Winter I look forward to seeing new faces. For some, it may be your first yoga/wellness retreat.
